DUSHI – Butterfly / Let Go ft. mi.re.la
£1.00 – £2.25
Cat: INFORM 026
Released: 8 May 2020
Hot off the heels of Lilac’s single, Inform Records are back for their 26th release which features another exciting female talent, this time in the form of the elusive but undeniably talented DUSHI.
It’s been a hot minute since the world heard anything from DUSHI, with her last release being the sublime Crossroads which featured on Soulvent’s Summer Selection LP way back in 2018. If you heard that then you should have some idea of what to expect but, if not, you’re in for a treat.
The A-side, Butterfly, starts innocently enough with gentle rising pads and that classic think break before switching up and dropping into what can best be described as a full-bore slammer replete with dutty midrange growls and a classic hip hop sample thrown in for good measure. Once you’ve heard it all you’ll want to do is roll it out in the mix. Trust.
Let Go, on the flip, is more of a restrained affair that’s a definite throwback to the liquid funk sound of old. Bringing together DUSHI’s production talents alongside mi.re.la’s lush vocals, Let Go rolls along on top of some rushing drum work and a nice, subby bassline. This is definitely one for the summer.
Back in the game after a brief hiatus, Inform Records are back doing what they do best: bringing you the best in D&B from the best in underground artists. Stay locked.
