Duoscience – Came From Brazil EP
£1.00 – £4.50
Description
Cat: INFORM 010
Released: 20 January 2014
As a rule, when you turn 10, big things are usually in order and now 2014ʼs upon us Inform are back on the attack with another full-fat serving of pure liquid vibes, this time with a side order of Latin Flava. Inform are proud to call on the prodigious talents of the man like Duoscience as the chef of this particular slice of jazzy D&B goodness.
With releases on Celsius, Fokuz, IM:LTD, Influenza Media and Soul Deep Recordings to name but a few itʼs clear that Duoscience, born Edu Ventura, has that funky liquid vibe that Brazil does so well absolutely down.
The Came From Brazil EP is just that, four tracks from a rising producer infused with classic Brazilian vibes and the samba sounds of his homeland. Track 1, But How Can Love, is a lovely muted piece of music, reminiscent of a smoky downtown bar at 3 am. The B side, and also the EPʼs title track, is more of a roller with a funky snappy bassline that reaches across genres with enough clout to slay a favela dancefloor.
Track numero 3, Freeing, is another funky roller that retains just enough of the liquid to make it sound nice at home and just enough of the funk to make it a weapon in the dance. The final track, Metal On Oxtongue, is the deepest of the four and a perfect send off to what amounts to a journey through the vibes and influences of Duoscienceʼs South American homeland.
Keeping the bar set high Inform is moving into 2014 with the same fresh approach to liquid D&B and some killer tracks in the pipeline. Stay locked.
