The first release from latest signing Beat Gates who delivers a scintillating four-tracker on Inform imprint which is full of lilting melodies deftly placed beats and shimmying SFX. Opening with the murmuring, cinematic intro of “Underground Sunset”, it’s all urbane sultriness before we are led into “Mellove” with its pared-down soundscape and booming sub-bass. Next is “Lessons Of Life” which takes a didactic tone but is actually full of chirruping melodies and sweet harmonies. Bringing things to a delightful close is “Dream Trip” with its hazy atmospherics and drifting rhythms.
